AUS Vs OMN Live: Where to Watch, Match Preview & Prediction

Australia will be taking on Oman to kick start their T20 World Cup campaign. The match will be played at Barbados on 6th of June.

Australia will be looking for a positive start as they have an ideal chance to add another ICC title. Whereas Oman will try to replicate their gritty performance against Namibia – this time hoping for a positive result.

Team overview:

Australia:

Australia have recently won ICC Test Championship title and ODI World Cup and of course now they will be hoping to lift the T20 World Cup – three trophies under one team, seems like a dream? And Australia has all the resources to turn this dream into reality.

In the 2010 T20 World Cup they reached the finals and fell short against England. In the 2021 edition they finally lifted the T20 World Cup trophy for the first time. Nevertheless, their title defence in the year 2022 was not impressive facing premature exit at home soil.

Australia will be hoping that Travis Head and Pat Cummins continue to shine as they were making waves in the IPL this season..

And the skipper Mitchell Marsh, whose comeback has been nothing short of amazing, would look to contribute with bat and ball, as it will be his mega event as a captain.

Although Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc and some other players could not participate in the warm up games given it took them days to reach Barbados but Australia will be confident to get the better of Oman.

Oman:

Oman had a hard fought loss against Namibia at Kensington Barbados. Batting first they scored 109, an easy target to achieve on paper. But Oman’s bowlers bowled brilliantly as they dragged the game to the super over.

Nevertheless, Oman could not achieve the total of 22 set by Namibia in the super over.

Oman will be hoping for a more positive approach from the batters this time around, particularly captain Aqib Ilyas will have to step-up with the bat.

Moreover, Bilal Khan will have to bowl more precisely after he ended up conceding 21 runs from David Wiese in the super over.

And of course if Mehran Khan continues his superb form he can trouble the Australian batters.

Head-to-head:

The upcoming encounter will be the first game between the said nation.

Predictions:

Australia will win this contest, they will have the upper hand over Oman, as their players are world class back by the experience of playing IPL recently.

Pitch and weather report:

Weather seems promising for this encounter as there is no prediction of the rain as of now. It will be the same ground where Oman played against Namibia and Scotland faced England.

The pitch used in the Oman and Namibia game was tricky but Scotland’s openers enjoyed themselves in a day game against the English bowling lineup.

So, it will depend on the surface which will be used during the Australia and Oman game.
