England and West Indies will lock horns in the 4th T20 of the ongoing series on Sunday.
Match preview:
England and West Indies will continue their 5 match T20 series at Darren Sammy Nation Stadium on 17th November.
England have already clinched the series having won the first 3 T20Is. Thanks to Saqib Mehmood and Jofra Archer.
West Indies side will play for their pride and will try to secure a consolation victory under the leadership of Rovman Powell.
In the last T20, West Indies top order and middle order struggled to make a mark as none of their top 5 batters made it into the double figures.
I think it’s a bit disappointing. We keep losing wickets in clusters and in the power play. It’s a case of us being our natural selves. Said Powell
Captain Rovman Powell scored an impressive 50 to take the total to 145. Saqib was the standout bowler for England.
In reply, England had a shaky start losing 3 wickets in the powerplay. But heroics from Sam Curran and Liam Livignstone took England over the line. Speaking of Liam, he has been the force to reckon with in the recent past and provided his side with match-winning performances when it was thought England could not cross the winning line.
Akeal Hussain took 4 wickets and just gave away 22 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Had West Indies managed to win, Akeal would have been the player of the match.
Nevertheless, besides their awful batting, the home side team should look to correct their errors in the field too as they were sluggish and sloppy in the last T20 game.
Pitch report
The surface at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia is quite slow. The spinners could get some help from this surface. Batters are expected to struggle. So, a low-scoring thrilling encounter is expected
