Australia is set to face Namibia on 12th June in Antigua.
Australia will have a higher chance to win this game and by winning it they will cement their place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament.
Team Overview:
Australia had a dominating start to their T20 World Cup campaign. In the last edition of the T20 World Cup, the team showed a below-par outing at their backyard. However, in this T20 World Cup so far, they have shown thumping performances.
Although they struggled a bit against Oman but eventually overpowered them and then coupled it with a dominating victory over their arch-rivals England at Barbados.
Batting first Mitchell Marsh’s men scored 201 in 20 overs by the virtue of Marcus Stoinis 30 off 17 and a great start by the openers Travis Head and David Warner.
England were cruising to their way to victory as the openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler gave an ideal start to their team but the spinner Adam Zampa hindered their way towards victory as his clinical spell helped Australia to clear the winning line.
Zampa was adjudged player of the match for his match winning spell of 2-28 in 4 overs.
Australia would be pinning their hopes on Zampa to continue his stellar performance. The worrying factor can be Glenn Maxwell’s form but given his calibre and past performance he is just one great innings away to regain his groove.
Namibia had a great start to their T20 World Cup campaign as they thumped Oman in the super over. Nevertheless, they faced defeat against Scotland as they failed to defend a total of 155 at Barbados.
Namibia’s captain showed great performance against Scotland, both with the bat and bowl. Gerhad Erasmus scored 52 off 31 and took 2 wickets and conceded only 29 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Besides him, the hopes will be on experienced David Wiese and the left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz who has been bowling exceptionally.
The bowling options of Namibia are limited due to injuries to Frylinck and Smit.
Despite this, Namibia is excited to face Australia in their upcoming encounter and will be aiming to make a statement.
Pitch and weather report:
The match has been moved to Antigua from Bridgetown. This venue is a fast-scoring ground. The breeze can play a significant factor on this ground. Also, there is no threat of rain during this game.
Predictions:
Australia are hot-favourite to win this game as they are a well-balanced side with their main players in form.
Head-to-head records:
Both of the sides have only faced each other once in the 2003 ODI World Cup and Australia won the game by 256 runs. So, Australia will be looking to replicate this in the T20 format as well.
