ICC announces the schedule of Champions Trophy 2025

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will continue for 19 days.

The schedule and groupings for Ninth ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 have been declared by the ICC on Tuesday, 24 December, the event decided to have its first game in Karachi on 19 February, and the final match on 9 March.

Total eight teams will participate in the tournament and total 15 matches are scheduled to play across Pakistan and Dubai. 

In Pakistan, the selected match venues are Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. All three Pakistan venues will host three group matches separately, Lahore being selected to host second semi-final. 

Lahore will also hold the right of hosting final match on 9th March, if India qualify for final game, then it will be played in Dubai. Reserve days for both semi-finals and final matches are also decided.

The first semi-final match and the three group stage matches of India will be played in Dubai.

Pakistan will play the first match of the tournament against New Zealand, placed in Group A in Karachi on 19th February. On next day, Dubai will host India and Bangladesh match.

On 21st February, first match of Group B will take place in Karachi , featuring Afghanistan against South Africa.

Then on weekend, a biggest collision will take place between rivals England and Australia in Lahore on Saturday, 22nd February. Then on next day the most waited match will happen between Pakistan and India in Dubai.

The eight teams that are participating in the Champions Trophy, are those teams who secured the top eight positions on the points table of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Previously, Champions Trophy was played in 2017, and Pakistan were the defending champions, Pakistan is now placed in Group A along with their rivals India also in the same group. Also New Zealand and Bangladesh are part of this group.

Group B includes Cricket World Cup 2023 champions Australia, alongside their rivals England in the same group, also including Afghanistan and South Africa.

Total two groups are created for the event, having four teams each.

Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Group B: Australia, Afghanistan, England and South Africa.

21 February, Afghanistan vs South Africa, Karachi, Pakistan

22 February, Australia vs England, Lahore, Pakistan

23 February, Pakistan vs India, Dubai

24 February, Bangladesh vs New Zealand, Rawalpindi, Pakistan

25 February, Australia vs South Africa, Rawalpindi, Pakistan

26 February, Afghanistan vs England, Lahore, Pakistan

27 February, Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Rawalpindi, Pakistan

28 February, Afghanistan vs Australia, Lahore, Pakistan

1 March, South Africa vs England, Karachi, Pakistan

2 March, New Zealand vs India, Dubai

4 March, Semi-final 1, Dubai

5 March, Semi-final 2, Lahore, Pakistan

9 March, Final, Lahore (unless India qualify, then it will take place in Dubai)

10 March, Reserve day.
