IND vs ENG LIVE: Where to Watch, Live Streaming, & Match Preview

England and India will face each other in the second ODI of the ongoing series on 9th February at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack

Match Preview:

England wants to revolutionise everything? In the 1st ODI of the series against India, it felt like England was rushing things and playing attacking cricket even at points when it wasn’t needed.

Albeit a good start England failed to put a commanding total on the board because the middle order collapsed and lost the wickets by playing unnecessary shots.

Their bowling did well in the first phases of the game but then the bowlers started to bowl short lengths later on which cost them the match.

England need to play with a better mindset in the second ODi and they will be in dire need of contributions from Joe Root, Ben Duckett, and Phil Salt.

England needs to play much better to stay in the series. Their bowlers must do a better job against India’s strong batsmen. It’s their last chance, so they need to give their best performance yet.

India is feeling confident after their easy win in the first match. Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel played great innings to help India win. The bowlers, including new player Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja, did a good job keeping England’s score low.

For the next match, India hopes their opening batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will start strong. The team is counting on Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul to keep the momentum going. All-rounders Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, and Jadeja will work together to keep the pressure on England.

India wants to win the series, so they’ll try to play even better in the next match.

Probable Playing XI:

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakarvarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami

England: Ben Duckett, Philip Salt (wk), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (c), Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood

Pitch and weather report:

The Barabati Stadium pitch is a fair one, giving both batsmen and bowlers a chance to shine. Early on, fast bowlers can get the ball to swing and bounce, but as the pitch dries out, spinners start to take control, getting the ball to turn and grip.

Interestingly, the average score for the team batting first here is just 229 runs, showing that bowlers have had the upper hand. But, historically, teams chasing a target have had more success at this venue.

So, if a team wins the toss, it might be a good idea to bowl first, try to keep the opposition’s score down, and then take advantage of the chasing.

Head-to-Head Record

India and England have faced off in 107 ODIs, with India winning 59 and England emerging victorious in 44. Two matches ended in draws, while three had no result.

Prediction:

India’s potent spin attack, combined with their versatile all-rounders, could prove to be a game-changer on the Barabati pitch. If England struggles to counter India’s bowling might, the hosts could wrap up the series with a win in the 2nd ODI.
