India and New Zealand will face each other in the last Test match of the series n 1st November at Wankhede stadium
Match preview:
Does India have a Kiwi problem? India has been a force to reckon with at home especially in the Test format. But somehow, for some reasons, New Zealand have found a way to breach their resistance already winning the series by winning the first two Test matches of the game.
Now, India finds itself in a tough situation in respect to the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. The Indian team will have to win all of their six games to make it to the top of the table in the ongoing cycle.
And India’s next task is against Australia, a five-match Test series, and to win all of the Test matches would be a bit unrealistic. Nevertheless, if India fails to attain the top spot, they will be hoping any other team messed up their cycle.
Anyway, India still have a chance to get their groove back and to be in maximum confidence ahead of the tough series. Although they have lost the series, they can still win the last game of the ongoing Test series against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will have to step-up in the last Test of the series if they want to win to match and avoid a clean sweep. Moreover, Ashwin and Jadeja will have to step-up as their performances weren’t up to the mark as of now. Washington Sundar was amazing in the second Test match and the side will hope he continues his masterclass performance.
Talking about New Zealand, Kane Williamson will miss the last test also but the head coach is hopeful that he will make a comeback against England series
“Yeah, very confident,” Stead said of Williamson’s availability for the first Test against England. “I mean at a push we could have got him over here [in India] immediately, but considering I guess the travel factor and making sure that you can actually recover properly when you get here, we didn’t feel that was worth the risk. So we’re happy with having him ready and very, very confident he’ll be right for that first Test versus England.”
New Zealand will hope that Rachin Ravindra, Tom Lathm, Santner, and the pacers continue their form to complete a historic white-wash against India.
Pitch and weather report:
The Wankhede stadium will provide red soil for the first time in the series and India have asked for the spin track yet again and the spinners will have an important role to play in the game. The captain who will win the toss is expected to bat first.
