MS VS LQ 12th Match Live: Where to Watch, Live Streaming, & Match Preview

The 12th match of PSL X will be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars on 22nd April in Multan.

Match Preview

It has been an uncharacteristically rocky beginning for the Multan Sultans—an outfit known for setting the pace early in the tournament, particularly when playing on home soil. After enduring three successive defeats, they finally return to their familiar territory, a venue where they have historically asserted dominance and shaped their squad to exploit home conditions.

Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, have shown resilience after a shaky start. Despite falling short in their opening fixture against defending champions Islamabad United, they bounced back with authority, securing emphatic wins in their next two outings.

Given the red-hot form of Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order, Multan will bank heavily on their seasoned new-ball operator David Willey. His ability to extract movement early on could be pivotal in dismantling Lahore’s top order. Conversely, Lahore’s talismanic skipper, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has been in menacing form with the new ball. Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan will carry the responsibility of negotiating that initial threat—a battle that could shape the direction of the contest.

In the middle overs, the roles of Usman Khan and Kamran Ghulam will be crucial as they look to counter the spin tandem of Asif Afridi and Rishad Hossain. The duo has been exceptional throughout the tournament, collectively claiming 10 wickets in just three matches and stifling opposition momentum with disciplined spells.

One of the most defining aspects of the clash could be Multan’s death bowling—a clear Achilles’ heel so far. Lahore have consistently excelled at accelerating in the final overs, while Multan’s struggles in containing runs at the back end remain a pressing concern. How well they address this vulnerability may well determine the outcome of the game.

Pitch Report

As has often been the case in recent encounters, early assistance for the seamers is expected, with notable movement on offer in the initial overs. As the game progresses, spinners are likely to come into play, extracting grip and turn off the surface. Batting won’t be straightforward, and a total in the vicinity of 170 could well be considered par on this challenging track.
