The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in Lahore on 9 January, has announced the complete schedule of the men’s domestic cricket tournaments that will happen in 2025. Pakistan’s domestic cricket calendar 2025 will start from the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I as a first-class tournament.
Aside from the Test matches, white-ball tournaments will also gain importance which include one 50-over List-A event, three T20 and one non-first-class three-day
The introduction of U15 and U17, also the Champions U19 One-Day Cup and three-day Trophy, holds great value in developmental Cricket. These three events will help young and fresh players to enhance their talent and skills.
During 2025, a total 21 domestic, age-group and pathways tournaments are scheduled to play. This consists of at least 131 first-class, 37 50-over List-A and 119 T20 matches.
Further, more than Ten thousand matches will be played throughout the country, including the club, age-group, schools, colleges and universities tournaments. All these opportunities can give way for the young and fresh blood to polish their capabilities.
In March, the 18-team National T20 Cup will happen and players from 16 regions across Pakistan will participate. This tournament will help players to enhance their skills in the shortest format.
During April and May, President’s Trophy Grade-II, the non-first-class three-day departmental tournament will take place, which will be a platform for the departments struggling for their spot in the 50-over List-A and first-class departmental tournaments.
During April and May, the interesting Pakistan Super League 10 will take place. After that the senior men’s domestic events will be stopped for three months. PCB will arrange training, fitness and conditioning camps across the 16 regions for the upcoming domestic events.
During September and October, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Champions Cup – the two premier first-class tournaments are scheduled to happen. These tournaments will give red-ball matches a platform for the young players to find possible ways to be part of Pakistan Test Cricket.
During November and December, The 50-over List-A tournament – President’s Cup Grade-I will take place, after this event, the second edition of the Champions T20 Cup will take place. The Champions Cup One-Day tournament will happen in January 2026.
Reconsidering the Age-group and Pathways, PCB has replaced the U13 and U16 categories with U15 and U17. This step by the PCB will provide more opportunities to the teenagers to participate in the tournaments at national level.
