Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians will square off in the 50th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on 1st May at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Match Preview:
Rajasthan Royals hit back at the critics with a scintillating win in their last encounter against Gujarat Titans. It was a powerful show by a 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi who scored 101 off 38 deliveries to keep his side’s play-off hope alive.
Now, in order to keep up the race for that play-off spot, Royals have to win all of their remaining matches which of course can be a daunting task.
A lot will be dependent on Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jofra Archer.
Jaiswal has been the leading run-scorer for the side in this IPL season having scored 426 runs in 10 games. Jaiswal also boasts a good record against MI. He’s scored 283 runs in seven matches at an average of 47.16 and a strike rate of 175.77
Talking about Archer, he has performed well against MI as Englishman has taken 12 wickets in six matches at an average of 13.66 and an economy of 6.83.
Mumbai Indians, similarly, will be in good form given they won their last game as well.
After a stuttering start the side has regained the momentum and are currently 2nd in the points table.
It seems like everything is working for Mumbai Indians as of now. Rohit Sharma has found his form back. Jasprit Bumrah is shaping up the ball well. SuryaKumar Yadav found his feet again. Trent Boult hopping in and making a statement.
So, Mumbai would not have much to worry about when they face Rajasthan in their next game.
This will be the first time Rajasthan and Mumbai will face each other in this season. The last time they faced each other was in 2024 where Rajasthan registered a convincing victory over Mumbai at Jaipur.

Pitch and weather report:
Although it’s batting friendly surface as it was seen in the last game as well where a total of 412 runs were scored. However, the pacers can have an ideal chance to make a difference in the upcoming encounter. All the eyes will be on MI’s Bumrah and RR’s Boult.
Head-to-Head record:
Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians have faced one another thirty times. MI has won fifteen of these thirty games, while RR has won fourteen of them, with one game ending in a draw.
Prediction:
Although Rajasthan gunned down a great total against Titans, Mumbai is still favourite to win this upcoming game, given how they have been performing lately.
