The Pakistan Super League will restart on May 17 and wrap up with the final on May 25, a week later than originally planned. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the revised schedule, aiming to bring the season to a close quickly after a pause caused by rising cross-border tensions with India.
The four remaining group matches will all be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Ground. Playoffs and the final shift to Lahore. Except for one afternoon match — Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators on May 18 — all games will be played under lights, with a 7:30 PM local start.
“HBL PSL X picks up from where it left off,” PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Six teams, zero fear. Eight thrilling matches starting May 17, building up to the grand final on May 25. Best of luck to all the teams.”
While the league has just eight matches left, pulling it off won’t be simple. Overseas player availability remains a major concern. According to ESPNcricinfo, many foreign players are unlikely to return, with some teams in a better spot than others. To even the playing field, PCB is considering a replacement draft.
The changes also mean Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan won’t go ahead as originally planned. The first T20I between the two sides was set for May 25 in Faisalabad — now the same day as the PSL final. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that discussions about a revised schedule are ongoing.
May 17 – Match 27: Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings (Rawalpindi, Night)
May 18 – Match 28: Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators (Rawalpindi, Day)
May 18 – Match 29: Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars (Rawalpindi, Night)
May 19 – Match 30: Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings (Rawalpindi, Night)
May 21 – Match 31: Qualifier (Lahore, Night)
May 22 – Match 32: Eliminator 1 (Lahore, Night)
May 23 – Match 33: Eliminator 2 (Lahore, Night)
May 25 – Match 34: Final (Lahore, Night)
It is eminent to mention that due to cross-border hostilities escalated, security concerns forced the PCB to halt the league midway. At the time, the situation created uncertainty around travel, logistics, and player safety — especially for foreign players. The board, along with franchise officials, has been pushing for a swift finish once the window reopened.
Now, with the green light secured, the league will pick up where it left off. The four remaining group-stage games will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Ground. Playoffs and the final shift to Lahore. All games will be played at night with a 7:30 PM local time start, except for one afternoon clash between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators on May 18.
