Tom Curran admits “he did not cry” during Pakistan-India war tension

Tom Curran, England’s fast bowler, who was participating in Lahore Qalandars team in Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025), said that he is satisfied to know that the competition has been restarted after a little break.

From May 17th, the tenth edition of PSL started again which was suspended due to ongoing military problems between the two rivals India and Pakistan. After the ceasefire announcement, the PSL authorities were able to resume the tournament. IPL 2025 was also affected due to conflicting  situations in the country. Tom Curran also broke his silence relating to “cry like a child”  out of fear after the military problems in Pakistan.

Foreign players who were participating in IPL and PSL, left the countries due to the rising conflicts in both countries.

Earlier, it was claimed by the Bangladesh’s all-rounder Rishad Hossain that after the conflicting situations happened in the country, two foreign players were badly disturbed by that. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and England’s Tom Curran were really distressed. He said that Mitchell will never visit Pakistan again in the future while Curran cried like a child at the airport.

“He (Tom Curran) went to the airport but heard that the airport was closed. Then he started crying like a little child, that it took two or three people to handle him,” Rishad claimed while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Tom Curran finally explained his point of view by saying that he didn’t cry and he was well aware of the situation of the country. While he posted a picture with Pakistan Military persons on Instagram Stories, by giving it a caption, “I’m glad to see things resuming, and I pray for continued peace between two very special countries.”

“Btw promise, I didn’t cry; I was ready (laughing emoji),” he further added.

Rishad’s statement about Mitchell and Curran just went viral in a few days and many publications made it a part of news, leaving a negative impact on the personalities of both players. After all this situation Rishad Hossain offered his “unconditional apology” to both payers by saying that his words were disguised in the media which resulted in “creating a false perception”,

“I’m aware that a recent comment I made has caused confusion and has unfortunately been misrepresented in the media, creating a false perception. It lacked full context and unintentionally overstated the emotions involved,” he said in a statement.

“I sincerely regret any misunderstanding it may have caused. I’ve offered an unconditional apology to Daryl Mitchell and Tom Curran,” he added.

In the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the resumed PSL started once again, where Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi were on the ground on Saturday, May 17. Karachi Kings reached the playoffs by winning that match by 23 runs.

Meanwhile IPL restart was still delayed due to continuous rain in the country, as a result Royal Challengers Bangalore was at the top of the table, while the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders were eliminated from the competition.
